School of Transportation has established extensive international partnerships with over 20 renowned overseas universities and international academic institutions, including Carnegie Mellon University, Purdue University, University of South Florida, Texas A&M University, University of California, Irvine, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the United States; University of Stuttgart, Ruhr University Bochum, RWTH Aachen University, and INT City Traffic Consulting (Daimler Mercedes-Benz) in Germany; Imperial College London, Newcastle University, and University of Southampton in the United Kingdom; Saga University and The University of Tokyo in Japan; Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands; Monash University in Australia; University of Waterloo in Canada; University of Pretoria (South Africa), University of Indonesia, and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. More than 10 joint student training programs and summer schools have been launched. The College actively promotes student participation in overseas short-term and long-term academic and cultural exchange programs as well as high-level international academic conferences. On average, over 40 undergraduates, more than 150 master's students go abroad for exchanges each year, and doctoral students enjoy 100% coverage for international exchange opportunities.


Master Joint Training Program for Transportation Engineering of Southeast University and Monash University in Transportation Engineering

The Southeast University-Monash University Joint Master’s Program in Transportation Engineering was established in September, 2012. The joint Master’s program is undertaken over two years and students graduate with two Master’s degrees; one from Southeast University and one from Monash University. So far it is the only international joint graduate program in Transportation Engineering that is approved by the Ministry of Education of China.

CRBC-Southeast University Master's Program in Transportation Engineering for Pakistani Students

Focusing on the Belt and Road Initiative, Southeast University attaches great importance to cooperation and exchanges with countries along the Belt and Road in international student education. With strong support from the education authorities of both China and Pakistan and active promotion by the National Development and Reform Commission, the first batch of Pakistani graduate students, fully funded by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), were admitted to Southeast University to enroll in the Master's Program in Transportation Engineering, a fully English-taught program offered by the School of Transportation.The strategic cooperation agreement signed with China Road and Bridge Corporation represents not only a new platform and starting point for university-enterprise collaboration, but also a new move and measure in higher education cooperation between China and Pakistan. Furthermore, it serves as another vivid example of Chinese universities actively responding to the Belt and Road Initiative and joining hands with enterprises to promote win-win development.



Integrated Bachelor's-Master's Training Program with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU)

Southeast University has established an integrated Bachelor’s-Master’s training program in collaboration with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). The program aims to strengthen academic exchange and cultivate internationally oriented talents in civil and environmental engineering. Under this initiative, outstanding undergraduate students from the School of Transportation at Southeast University may be selected during their third year of study and recommended to apply for postgraduate programs at PolyU. After completing the required undergraduate curriculum and meeting admission requirements, students may pursue a master’s degree at PolyU. The program promotes closer academic collaboration between the two universities and provides students with valuable opportunities for international study, interdisciplinary learning, and global academic engagement. Through this joint effort, both institutions seek to enhance talent development and foster long-term cooperation in education and research.
